Development Diary -26/3/09

What did you do today on you website?
This lesson I was working on doing the website plan which is due next week. Samarth is working on the narrative task which s also due next week.

What have you learned today working on your website?
Today I learned how to to design my website. I followed the scaffold on pmonline and tried to work my way around the website plan.

What issues you faced /are facing with regards to the development of you website?
Making the website pla was a bit had at first because I had never really created a website before. Well I did do my individual website but I didnt really follow a scaffold for creating that website.

Stratagies you have already applied to try to resolve issues with you website?
When I had difficulties in making the website plan I went and looked at the scaffold on pmonline and that assisted me alot.

1. Describe how optical fibre technology can be used i medical applications?
In medical applications optical fibre technology can be used for scopes or different types of lenses to see what is happening insinde the body.

2. Identify traditional medical techniques that optical fibres might replace.
The optical fibres might replace the traditional medical techniques such as x – ray.

3. Evaluate the benifits to fibre optic technology to medicine.
One of the benifits could be that it is more accurate and this will let the doctors determine what problem the patient has much quicker so they could give their patients the cure.

What you have discovered so far about the play your group has chosen to study?
The name of the play that we are doing is Julius Caesar. The play is a tradegy.

Which key characters have been introduced?
Artemidourus: teacher and friend of some of the conspirators; he has learnt about the plot against Caesar.
Plebians: Roman citizens at Caesar’s funeral.
Servant: messenger from Octavius.
Cinna the poet: a poet with the same name as one of the conspirators.

1. What words and or images come to mind When you hear the word Jesus?
- GOD
- Holy Mother Mary
- Church
- The Cross
- Sacrifice

2. What might be important for young people to identify with an image of Jesus?
That it doesn’t just have to be a picture of Jesus in physical form. It could be to do with anything about Christianity. Young people should also understand that they should not make a mokery of Holy images of Jesus.

3. Where in your life do you most associate with images of Jesus?
I think in my life i mostely relate to images of Jesus when i am prayng.

 

Journal 5

In todays lesson we learnt about Acids and Metals. We also did a prac on this topic. The aim of this prac was to observe  the reaction of an acid with a metal. In this practical we had to also find out what was the gas that was being formed. The gas was hydrogen.

Some of the things that we learnt during the lesson were:

• Acids contain the element hydrogen in combination with other non metal elements.
• Some of the properties of acids: acids have sour taste, acids turn blue litmus red, acids conduct electricity in aqueous (water) solution.
• When an acid reacts with a metal, hydrogen gas and salt are produced.
• A salt is an ionic compund containing the ions left over after reactions.

How were the results of the corrosion practical?

Today we had to observe the results of our corrosion practical.

1. the nail that was in the oil had rusted.

2. The that was in the silica gel had nothing happen to it.

3. the nail that was mixed with the water rusted with the rust in the water

4. the nail that was by itself had no change.

1. How is your research going?
well we have actually got each member in our group researching on one of the things in the need to know list. At the moment i am researching; current issues- how history has formed and shaped Australia to the present. Paul is researching about how to edit websites, Francis is researchin about the History of the Australian government and Luke and James are also researching on different parts of the need to know list.

2. What do you know about imovie? What other multimedia possibilities have you considered for your presentation?
I think that imovie is a very different and interesting form of presenting any type of information, data, collages or even making of videos and movies.
some of the other tools we could use would be windows movie maker and many more.

1. How will you organise your multimedia sales pitch? List ideas, think about how the entry document was presented.
- Well the entry document was presented in a very informative but humerous way.
- I think that everyone payed more attention to it as it was made by the teahers at school.

Well we as a group are still thinking about wat multimedia source we are going to present in our final product. Right now we are just looking at pmonline and the ruberic to see what tasks there are for us to go through.

Well the need to know list was a discussion involving the whole class. We all had to brainstorm the things we knew and didnt know about the project. All of the team secretariy’s had to type the need to know list up, print it off and have it placed in the group folder.

As far as role allocations go in our group, i am the team Marshell, James Naim is the group secretary, Paul Slaon is the people manager, Luke Clulow is the teacher liasion officer and Francis tobias is the time manager.
